Wir haben uns ein Taxi vom White Bay Cruise Terminal nach The Rocks genommen. The Rocks ist einer der ältesten Stadtteile Sydneys mit alten Lagerhäusern, die mittlerweile in Lofts und Hotels umgemünzt sind.

Wir werden drei Tage im Hotel Russell auf der George Street übernachten.

Sydney ist einfach Leben. Ein grosser Kreuzfahrer lag am Terminal am Circular Quay und viele Passagiere bezogen das Schiff.

Sydney wimmelt nur so von chinesischen Gästen. Überall sind Kunstwerke von chinesischen Künstlers zu sehen. Das chinesische Neujahrsfest wird vom 16.2. bis Anfang März gefeiert. Das Jahr des Hundes steht an.

Wir sind am Quay bei „unserem“ Italiener essen gewesen. Dort sind wir bei unserem letzten Besuch in Sydney 2014 auch sehr oft gewesen.

Das Highlight des heutigen Tages war ein Besuch des Sydney Tower Eye an der Market Street. Wir sind zu Fuss dorthin gegangen und auch Gila hat es wieder ganz gut geschafft. Nervig war allerdings das endlose Warten am Ticketschalter. Der Grund sind nicht enden wollende Verkaufsgespräche des Schalterpersonals. Warum man nur ein Ticket kauft und nicht gleich Kombitickets für mehrere Attraktionen.

Endlich einmal auf dem Observation Deck ist die Aussicht natürlich phantastisch. Man kann auch

angeseilt den sogenannten SKYWALK machen. Das wollten wir uns allerdings nicht antun :-)

Auf der Taxifahrt zurück zum Schiff konnte der Taxifahrer nicht verstehen, warum das Schiff 3 Tage in Sydney liegt und warum jemand aus Deutschland auf die Idee kommt, nach Sydney zu fliegen, um dort an Bord eines Schiffes zu gehen. Auch ein Standpunkt.

Heute ist unser letzter Abend an Bord. Die Koffer müssen bis 2 Uhr morgen früh vor die Kabinentür gestellt werden und wir müssen die Kabine bis 9 Uhr geräumt haben.

Wir vbleiben in Sydney bis zum 25. Februar 2018.

We took a cab to The Rocks, which is one of the oldest parts of Sydney. The old buildings there are now mostly lofts and hotels. We'll be staying in a hotel in The Rocks for the next days.

Tons of Chinese Tourists were visiting the city. Sydney currently has special celebrations for the Chinese New Year, the year of the dog.

We had lunch at our favorite Italian restaurant at the Circular Quai. During our last visit to Sydney in 2014 we ate there quite often.

Today's highlight was a visit to the Sydney Tower Eye on Market Street. We walked there and Gila was able to do it.

The observation deck provides a fantastic view over Sydney.

We took a taxi back to the ship. Our luggage must be packed and placed in front of the cabin no later than 2 am tomorrow and we have to leave the cabin around 9am.

We'll be staying in Sydney until February 25.
