Asien und Down Under – Der Hafen von Hong Kong Hong Kong Harbor

Die erste Nacht an Bord der Grand Lady war ruhig. Wir sind erst zum Spätaufsteherfrühstück in das Lido Buffet-Restaurant auf Deck 8 gegangen. Das Wetter ist miese. Kühle 9 Grad bei stark bedecktem Himmel. Gott sei Dank regnet es nicht.

Der Tag beginnt mit einer sehr schönen Überraschung. Unser Reisebüro (IMPULS Reisen in Reinbek) hat uns nicht nur eine Flasche Sekt auf die Kabine liefern lassen sondern auch noch 2 schöne Gutscheine für Getränke und Ausflüge beigelegt.

Auf den oberen Aussendecks ist nichts los. Viele der Gäste sind auf verschiedenen Ausflügen unterwegs.

Auch wir haben am Nachmittag einen Ausflug gemacht: Die grosse Hafenrundfahrt von Hong Kong.

Als passionierter Hafenrundfahrer im Hamburger Hafen war das ein Muss. Die Ablauforganisation eines Ausfluges kennen wir ja bereits von „Verrückt nach Meer“. Alles bestens organisiert. Unser Guide ist ein Chinese, der 8 Jahre in Deutschland gelebt hat und ein sehr gutes Deutsch spricht. Die Fahrt ist mit einer (nachgemachten) Dschunke und wir können die imposante Kulisse von Hong Kong bewundern und lernen vieles über das Leben in der Stadt mit 7,6 Millionen Einwohnern. Leider sehen wir nichts von dem größten Hafen in Süd-Ost-Asien. Die grossen Containerhäfen haben wir aber bereits gestern vom Auto aus gesehen.

Das Abendprogramm ist etwas stressig. Das Immigration Office macht dem Schiff einen Besuch und ca. 700 Reisende müssen dort mit Pässen, der Ausreisekarte und dem Visa vorstellig werden.

Danach ist die obligatorische Seenotübung und gegen 21.30 Uhr verlässt die Grand Lady Hong Kong mit Kurs auf das nächste Ziel: Hundred Islands auf den Philippinen. Am Samstag sind wir dort.

Our first night onboard of the Grand Lady was unspectacular. We had a late breakfast and afterwards explored the ship.

We also had a nice surprise delivered to our cabin: A bottle of champagne and two vouchers for drinks and excursions from our travel agency at home in Reinbek.

Not many people were on board of the ship because of several excursions.

We made an excursion around Hong Kong Harbor by boat. It was a 90 minute excursion and we sailed along the impressive city skyline. The Chinese guide spoke fluent German and we learnd quite a few things about the big city with 7.6 million people.

This evening we have the mandatory emergency training and around 9.30 pm the cruise starts.

Next destination is Hundred Islands on the Philippines.
