Port Campbell ist ca. 10km von den 12 Aposteln entfernt. Wir haben im Loch Ard Motel übernachtet und sind nach dem Frühstück an die Bucht des Ortes gegangen wo die hohen Wellen gegen die Felsen schlagen und diese langsam unterspülen.

Dann ging es wieder zurück zu den 12 Aposteln. Gila und ich wollten einen Helicopter Flug über die Küste machen. Dies war ein phantastisches Erlebnis. 15 Minuten dauerte der Flug über die Apostel bis zur London Bridge und wieder zurück. Der Helicopter war mit Kameras ausgestattet und wir haben einen Film auf einem USB Stick bekommen, der unsere Eindrücke bestens widerspiegelt.

Ewald hatte von Freunden gehört, dass im Landesinneren am Cape Otway, im Otway Forrest Reserve, der Welt längster Baumpfad zu finden ist. Wir sind dorthin, die Fahrt dauert für australische Verhältnisse lediglich 70 Minuten und haben den OTWAY FLY besucht. Im dichten Regenwald, mit Gum Tress, Ferne Trees, Blackwood und Murtle Beech ist der Treetop Walk zu finden, der teilweise bis 40m hoch und knapp 700m lang ist. Höhepunkt ist der 33m hohe und 24m lange Cantilever, ein frei hängender Arm des Walks über den Wipfeln. Eine ziemliche schaukelnde Angelegenheit.

Die 285 km lange Heimfahrt hat uns über den Princes Highway nach Geelong, dann über den M1 Freeway durch Melbourne bis hin zur little Farm in the Middle of Nowhere geführt.

Was für ein toller Tag. Jetzt bleiben wir 2 Tage auf der Farm und dann geht die Reise weiter nach Canberra, der Hauptstadt Australiens.

Port Campbell is located approx. 10Km west of The Twelve Apostles. We stayed at the Lord Ard Motel and visited the Bay of this little village after we had breakfast to watch the waves hit against the bay rockets.

Our first target of this day again were the Twelve Apostles. This time we took a helicopter flight over the Apostles, the coastline west to London Bridge and back. What an experience! We had booked a helicopter that had cameras on board and the entire flight was recorded. We got the movie on an USB stick after the flight.

Ewald had been told by friends that we should visit the Treetop Walk in the Otway Forrest Reserve which is at Cape Otway, a 70 minute drive from the Apostles. In the meantime we get used to the long distances you have to travel in this beautiful continent. The OTWAY FLY is a rain forrest with Gum Trees, Ferne Trees, Blackwood and Murtle Beech. The treetop walk is claimed to be longest of the world with 700 meters and up to 40 meters high. Highlight is the Cantilever, a gentle sway, 33 metres up and 24 meters long.

The drive home was 285 km and this time we drove north to Colac where we took the Princes Highway to Geelong, the M1 Freeway through Melbourne and we finally made it to the little Farm in the Middle of Nowhere.

What a day. We stay here for the next two days and then we head to the capital on Australia, Canberra.
