Bye Bye Cairns – The Croc Lady

Schon wieder 6 Tage rum. Heute ist unser letzter Tag in Cairns. Morgen geht es weiter nach Brisbane und von dort nach Montville nahe der Sunshine Coast.

Heute war wieder Super Wetter, allerdings mit einem starken, heissen Wind. Meinen schönen Aussie Hut konnte ich nicht tragen, es sei denn ich hätte ihn mir am Kopf festgeklebt.

Wir sind durch Cairns gebummelt und haben dann eine Harbour Cruise mitgemacht. Das besondere an der Rundfahrt war, dass Trinity Inlet besucht wurde, ein 300 qkm grosses Naturreservat an der Bucht von Cairns. Trinity Inlet besteht aus einem Mangroven Sumpf. Da während der Fahrt Ebbe war, konnte man die Wurzeln dieser faszinierenden Bäume sehr gut sehen. Hier hatten wir auch wieder die Gelegenheit Vögel oder Krokodile zu sehen. In diesem Reservat liegt auch eine Croc Farm von Louis Vuitton!!!

Und es hat geklappt. Auf einer kleinen Bucht, die durch die Ebbe freigelegt war, habe ich das Bild von Gila mit einem Krokodil schiessen können.

WOW - the picture I was hoping for

Last day in Cairns. Time passes by. Tomorrow we'll head for Montville close to the Sunshine Coast via Brisbane.

We did a stroll through Cairns. The weather is warm and sunny with a strong hot wind. We did a Harbor Cruise where we also cruised through a part of Trinity Inlet which is a 300 square km large nature reserve at the bay of Cairns. Trinity Inlet is a large Mangrove swamp. We could nicely see the roots of the Mangrove trees because of low tide. We also had the chance to watch birds and crocodiles. In this reserve Luis Vuitton also owns a croc farm!!!

Yes, we did it. I finally could shoot a photo of GILA AND A CROCODILE.
