Down Under – Montville (Sunshine Coast) – Sonntag, 25. März 2018

Nach dem Frühstück bin ich bei strahlendem Sonnenschein den Abhang hinter dem Haus herunter gegangen auf das Grundstück von Steward und Mag mit seinen 32.000 m² Fläche. Auf dem Grundstück ist ein kleiner See. Dort wollte ich hin und ein paar Fotos machen. Das Glück war auf meiner Seite als ein Yellow-Tailed Black Cockatoo über mich hinweg flog und ich ihn mit dem Fotoapparat einfangen konnte.

Heute Mittag waren wir bei den anderen Nachbarn eingeladen. Max und Elli wohnen ca. 1km die Palmwoods-Montville Road hinunter bzw. Luftlinie ca. 90m unterhalb von Henry und Jeanette. Ihr Haus liegt direkt über der Strasse mit einer tollen Aussicht über das Hinterland der Sunshine Coast.

Beide sind leidenschaftliche Gartenliebhaber und wir haben uns den verschlungenen Hanggarten über der Strasse unterhalb ihres Hauses angesehen mit unterschiedlichen Ginger Arten. Elli hat alles erklärt, aber die Informationen waren einfach zu viel für mich.

Zum Abschluss sind wir in den Dschungel über dem Haus gegangen. Dort sind alle Pflanzen und Bäume von den beiden nach ihrem Einzug 2005 selbst gepflanzt worden. Highlight war der Bambuswald mit unterschiedlichen Bambusbäumen.

Das gesamte Grundstück (20.000 m²) ist mit einem Bewässerungssystem durchzogen. Hut ab vor den beiden.

Gegen 15 Uhr sind wir nach Maroochydore gefahren. Dort habe ich einen Rundflug über die Sunshine Coast von Maroochydore und Mooloolaba in einer Wilga 80 gemacht, einem kleinen Wasserflugzeug, dass in Polen hergestellt worden ist.

Wir hatten sehr schönes Wetter und ich habe den Flug genossen. Die Bilder sprechen für sich!

Wir haben den Abend in Mooloolaba ausklingen lassen und in der Nähe des Yachthafens zu Abend gegessen.

Morgen ist der letzte Tag unserer Reise. Koffer packen ist angesagt und am späten Abend geht es von Brisbane nach Dubai.

After breakfast I walked downhill to the property of Steward and Mag. The sun was shining nicely. Steward has a pond on his 32,000 sqm large property which I wanted to see and take photos. On my way down a Yellow-Tailed Black Cockatoo flew above me and I had the luck to take a photo of him.

Around midday we were invited by the other neighbors. Max and Elli life approx. 1km down of the Palmwoods-Montville Road or 90m below the house of Henry and Jeanette. Their house is above the road and offers a great view over the Hinterland of the Sunshine Coast. Both are passionate garden friends and they walked us through the wonderful sloping garden above the road and below their house where they have all kinds of tropical flowers and multiple kinds of Ginger. Elli explained all of this but to be honest I can't remember all of it :-)

Next was the walk through the jungle above the house. All trees and plants have been planted by Max and Elli when they moved in the house in 2005. The highlight was the bamboo wood with various bamboo types.

The entire property (20,000 sqm) is infused with a watering system. Great job done and my respect.

At around 3 pm we drove to the banks of the Maroochydore river where I had booked a round trip with a little Wilga 80 sea plane.

The weather was great and the flight was spectacular. The pictures speak for themselfes!

We had seafood for dinner in Mooloolaba close to the ocean and yacht harbor.

Tomorrow is our last day. The 8 weeks are finally over. We have to pack luggage and take the plane late at night from Brisbane to Dubai.
