Heute morgen haben wir nach dem Frühstück unsere Terrasse genossen und ausgiebig gechilled.

The Brush Turkey - Gardener of the Rainforest

Gegen 14 Uhr sind wir zum Lake Baroon gefahren, einem Trinkwassersee für Maroochydore. Am See gelegen ist Secrets on the Lake (https://www.secretsonthelake.com.au/) eine kleine Hotelanlage mit erstklassigen Appartements in Form von Baumhäusern (Übernachtung ab AUD 400) pro Nacht. Die ganze Anlage ist in den Regenwald hineingebaut und bietet ein sehr angenehmes Ambiente. Wir haben dort unseren Kaffee mit Kuchen zu uns genommen und sind an den See heruntergegangen. Dort habe ich einen Monitor Lizard gesehen, der etwas über einen Meter lang war.

Unser nächstes Ziel heute nachmittag war Mary Cairnscross Scenic Reserve (http://www.mary-cairncross.com.au/) mit einem tollen Ausblick auf die Glass House Mountains und einem 2km langen Wanderweg in den Regenwald hinein. Der Regenwaldspaziergang war angenehm, da man hier im dichten Wald die Hitze nicht so sehr spüren konnte. Wir haben kleine Waldkänguruhs gesehen (Red legged pademelon), aber es war zu dunkel und die Tiere zu weit entfernt, um ein vernünftiges Photo zu schiessen.

Heute abend haben wir im Montville Cafe Bar & Grill (http://montvillepub.com.au/) zu Abend gegessen, eine Restauration, die einem englischen Pub ähnlich ist. Etwas ungewohnt, dass man Essen an der Theke bestellen und bezahlen muss und die Getränke an einer anderen Theke.

This morning we enjoyed the terrace after breakfast. Time to do nothing!

Around 2pm we drove to Lake Baroon which is the drinking water reservoir for Maroochydore.

At the lake there is Secrets on the Lake (https://www.secretsonthelake.com.au/) a small hotel resort with first class apartments in treehouses (cost per night AUD 400+). The entire resort is built into the rainforest and offers a charming ambient. We had coffee and cake and walked down to the lake where we met a Monitor Lizard which was about one meter in length.

Our second target today was Mary Cairnscross Scenic Reserve (http://www.mary-cairncross.com.au/) which offers a fantastic view to the Glass House Mountains and a 2km long walk through the Sunshine Coast Rainforest. The walk through the forest was pleasant because we didn't feel the afternoon heat so much in the dark and thick forest. We saw some little wood wallabies (Red legged pademelon) however it was too dark and they were too far away to shoot some photos.

Tonight we had dinner in the Montville Cafe Bar & Grill (http://montvillepub.com.au/). The restaurant operates like an English pub and you have to order and pay the food at a different counter than the drinks. A bit complicated but the food was great.
