4 Monate ohne Blog. Diese Zeit ist jetzt vorbei. Spontan Urlaub. Eine Woche auf der Insel Usedom. In Ahlbeck. Direkt an der Grenze zu Polen. Swinemünde praktisch einen Kilometer nach links.

Das Romantik Seehotel Ahlbecker Hof ist die geeignete Bleibe für den Kurzurlaub. Bleibe für Könige und Bundespräsidenten in der näheren Vergangenheit und jetzt Bleibe für uns. Na ja!

Das Seebad Ahlbeck ist bekannt für seine schöne Seebrücke die bereits 1899 gebaut wurde. Die Uhr im Jugendstil hat ihren Platz vor der Seebrücke und wartet verspielter Girlanden-Ornamentik auf.

Wir haben schöne 5 Tage hier verlebt. Das Wetter war überraschend gut. Natürlich haben wir es uns auch nicht nehmen lassen, den Markt in Swinemünde auf der Wojska Polskieg zu besuchen mit seinen hunderten Wellblechbuden und tausenden Stangen von Zigaretten.

Beeindruckend war der Spaziergang von Ahlbeck durch den strandnahen Wald nach Heringsdorf. Vorbei an Parks und Villen und einer kleinen Shopping Mall an und auf der Heringsdorfer Seebrücke.

4 months with no blog. Time for a change. During the month of March we took a short holiday trip to the island of Usedom in the most north-eastern part of Germany. Right at the border to Poland. 2 km to the east.

Guess what this means

We stayed at the Romantic Hotel Ahlbeck which is a 5 Star hotel and has been home of kings and famous politicians, actors and musicians. Now, we stayed here!!!!

The seaside resort Ahlbeck is well-known for the 280 meters long sea bridge that was built in 1899.

Visitors of the sea bridge are greeted by a lovely Jugenstil clock with garland ornaments.

5 wonderful days we spent here with surprisingly nice weather for this time of the year. Naturally we also spent a visit to the polish city of Świnoujście (Swinemünde) and the market on Wojska Polskieg with hundreds of quonset huts selling thousands of cigarettes (amongst other stuff).
